I'm an Italian freelance journalist, writer and mom living with my family in a small village in the mountains of Apennines. I love exploring geography and history through everyday life: old maps and forgotten routes, traditions and landscapes, books and journeys, nature, memory and the small details that tell us how people lived before us — and how we live today.

I write about travel, culture, slow living and quality of life, with a special interest in the stories that connect places, people and time.

Many of my stories begin with a cup of coffee and a question talking with my son in our slow morning routine. What was the world like once? Why do we do things this way? As our grandparents and great-grandparents lived their everyday lives, their stories became intertwined with the great events and figures of world history.

Where will the road take us today?

Find The Route is my collection of moments, questions and discoveries: a place to travel through geography, history and imagination, one route at a time.
