Places to discover roaming around the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines

Berceto, Calestano, Corniglio, Monchio delle Corti, Langhirano, Lesignano de’ Bagni, Neviano degli Arduini, Palanzano e Tizzano Val Parma: the small villages of Appennines in the province of Parma, famous for culinary tradition of its ham and cheese, Parmigiano Reggiano, but also for the ancient great history. The passage of time is written in buildings like the Renaissance theatre Teatro Farnese and the Palatine Library, Biblioteca Palatina, established in 1761 by Duke of Parma Philip Bourbon, the second-largest collection of Hebrew manuscripts in the world after the Bodleian Library in Oxford and the largest in Italy.

Italian breakfast in the small villages of Tuscan-Emilian Apennines means cappuccino and gnocco fritto, a dough of flour and water rolled out with a rolling pin and divided into pieces with rhombus shapes: I remember my grandma’s hands work quickly, cut and throw in the oil one piece after another; the smell of fried dough and her face absorbed.

18 km far from Parma Castle of Torrechiara and fresco cycle of the Golden Room inside.

Castell’Arquato, the view from Vernasca and the castle of the medieval town of Vigoleno. The valley of the Taro river, a tributary of the Po, and its villages like Compiano, close to the territories of the ancient Republic of Genoa.

  1. Today, I went to the beachfront with my children. I found a sea shell and gave it to
my 4 year old daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.”
She placed the shell to her ear and screamed.

There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear.

She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is totally off topic but I
    had to tell someone!
